(1) Breeding
It is recommended to use the second paragraph)
01. When sowing seeds, if you use pliers or nail clippers [preferably with your teeth] to crack the top of the seeds, it will be easier to germinate. Be careful not to damage the inner germ, just destroy the outer shell and let it break naturally. 02. Dry the seeds for one day, then soak them in water at 40 to 50 degrees, stir them with chopsticks and let them cool naturally. Soak them in water on the second and third days and change the water every day to allow the seeds to absorb enough water before planting them so they will germinate faster. Then wrap the seeds with a wet towel and put them in a fresh bag for germination. Wash the seeds and towel once a day to prevent the seeds from rotting. Place them in a place between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius (such as on an electric blanket, on top of a set-top box, next to a radiator) for germination. It usually takes 5-7 days to germinate. When the buds grow to about 0.5 to 1 cm, they are usually transplanted into the ground and covered with soil. 03. Choose soft soil. For qualified friends or novices, it is best to use the seedling quick. Place the seeds flat and cover them with 1 cm of soil (when using the seedling quick, soak the seedling quick first. Do not let any water accumulate in the seedling box. Then poke a hole and put the germinated gourd seeds in. Cover and water) and place it in a cool place for half a day. When placing it in the sun, cover it with a newspaper to prevent direct sunlight and keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate. At the same time, fill a seedling pot with a diameter of more than 20 cm with fertilized soil and water it with boiling water to kill diseases and insect pests. The boiling water must be poured thoroughly. After a few days, when the seeds in the seedlings germinate, holes can be drilled and sown. When sowing, place the seed teeth downward and the top of the seed slightly lower than the soil level of the flowerpot. Apply a thin layer of soil, then cover it tightly with a transparent film or glass, and place it in a sunny place. It will take about 7 to 10 days for the seedlings to break out of the soil, and then remove the film and dry the seedlings. 04. After germination, plant two seedlings in a seedling pot (to prevent damaged seedlings and diseased seedlings) and cover them with 2 to 3 cm of soil. 05. If the conditions are good, you can sow seeds directly in the ground, but you need to apply mulch film (increasing the surface temperature to speed up the emergence of seedlings and maintaining moisture). After the seedlings emerge, dig a small hole in the film to allow the gourd seedlings to pass the wind. This method will make the gourd grow stronger.
(2) Transplant
01. The seedlings are 30 to 40 days old. After they grow 4 true leaves, they can be transplanted into the ground or a flower pot (the diameter of the flower pot should be more than 30 cm in diameter). The planting soil should be pre-fertilized with base fertilizer (we use decomposed poultry manure or organic fertilizer). During the seedling period, we generally use large fertilizers. After flowering and fruit setting, top-dressing is appropriate, but not too much. It mainly depends on the growth of the gourd vine. 02. After the gourd has established its roots and grown, pull out a weak seedling and leave a vigorous one. 03. Before the gourd vine grows stems and vines, prepare bamboo poles or ropes to guide the gourd vine vines to the shelf and fix them appropriately in the middle.
04. Knock off the side buds before putting them on the shelves.
